Manual Percussion and Vibration Massage is a 12 CEU training course.

(Using Hands Only, No machines.)

This massage will use a series of rhythmic percussion techniques. They are most frequently applied with the edge of the hand, a cupped hand, or the tips of the fingers. 

There will be six types of percussion techniques used in this massage:

• Beating technique - Loose, closed fist lightly hitting area.

• Slapping - Using the fingers to gently slap.

• Hacking - Using the edge of hand on the hypothenar side (pinky finger side).

• Tapping - Using just fingertips.

• Cupping - Making your hand look like a cup and gently tap area.

• Plucking – The client’s skin is gently picked up by the thumb and fingers of each hand in a kind of light pinching or pecking motion. The tissue is picked up and released in rapid, alternating movement, using both hands.

This massage will also include vibration techniques on the back, quadratus lumborum, hamstrings, calves, feet, and quadriceps.

Petrissage and Vibration Massage helps by increasing blood circulation, increasing tissue elasticity and removing waste products from the muscles. Petrissage helps by increase fresh blood to the muscles and soft tissues. When petrissage massage is performed it stimulates the skin surface and encourages a vascular and lymphatic response.

Reporting to CE Broker in Florida, Georgia and Wisconsin only. All other jurisdictions, students must self report to Governing Body.
